Gosh, it’s been over a month since I last posted! I always say I’m going to do better about blogging and then don’t
Sigh.
Well, we were very busy in July. We were getting used to our new additions to the family. Sox got frightened badly by Gavin and so Sox had to spend a week back at the APL so he could get better. Then we were able to bring him and we had to keep the dog away from him for two weeks. Let’s just say how much fun that was. Not!
We celebrated the 4th of July in Mt. Vernon with my SIL and her family. That was a lot of fun. We got to take Gavin with us and he did wonderful. EXCEPT for that instance when Ryan decided to let him roam off the leash and Gavin decided to run FAR FAR AWAY — that left Ryan exhausted and upset! The girls and I were at the movies seeing Ice Age 3 while this all happened, lol.
We worked on training Gavin. Well, I guess I should admit RYAN worked on training Gavin, lol. We had installed the new wireless wifi fence so he trained him on that. Let’s just say that didn’t go well, either. Gavin is an escape artist to say the least.
My neice, Kirsten, got to spend some time with us in July as well. That was a LOT of fun! It was nice having her stay with us and we made the best of all the time we had together. We miss you, Kirsten! Oh and yes, we miss you too, Wyat. We would have had you too, except at your age I don’t think you want to spend time with the uncle and aunt, lol.
Besides the normal every day chaos, my mom and I had a garage sale. I was pretty successful, almost getting $100! The girls had their lemonade stand there as well, and seemed to do pretty good with it profit wise.
Gavin also went to get groomed for the first time. I thought it was time to get his nails clipped after he playfully scratched the my eye lid and face…yeah, it needed to be done. OUCH! I also had his front leg hair clipped because he kept peeing in it, lol.
On July 27 we took Gavin to doggy boot camp for two weeks. Ryan and I decided it would be faster to have him boarded and trained (2 weeks) versus us doing the training at home for 12 weeks with a private trainer. We sure still miss him. He gets to come home on Monday, August 10!!!! I miss the morning walks we had — it will be hard to start them back up, but will be fun. What I don’t miss is him barking, jumping up in bed at 4 am to let me know he has to go potty. Then me outside in the pitch dark, tired, not awake and begging the dog to go pee and poo! ROFL. Never thought I’d be in a situation like that, but I was.
We have a busy few months ahead of us with parties, camping, cruise, etc. God help us! lol. It will be fun, though. We are enjoying every minute of our summer together before the girls go back to school. The weather in July was fabulous so we got out a lot. Oh and we all went on our first bike trail together last Saturday. It would have been more fun if Megan would have made it farther. Her and I ended up having to turn back to the truck and wait for Ryan and Kylie to finish. It was just fun, though, hitting that new milestone in our lives. Ryan and I look forward to many more bike rides with the girls.
Hopefully I’ll get my stuff together and blog a bit more in the next two crazy months! Oh, check out the website photo album — I finally got April through now updated. LOL!
