Carving Pumpkins October 30, 2009

Last Saturday we had planned to go to the Apple Barn, but Megan still had a fever.  She was feeling fine, so the girls decided they wanted to carve the pumpkins we had gotten at the pumpkin patch the week before.  The weather was beautiful and we had so much fun carving.  After carving, we raked some leaves and the kids played in them!  Correction.  The kids and dogs played in the leaves.  They loved having two others to play in the leaves with them.  Gavin and Buster had a blast – especially Buster!!!  He didn’t want to get out of the leaves.  Ha ha.

Cheering at the football game October 30, 2009

Kylie attends school cheer camp twice a year — once for the basketball game and once for the football game.  Of course for the football game it is always cold, windy AND rainy!  And yes, you guessed it!  This year was no different.  The only difference was Ryan and Megan could not come as Megan was running a fever.  So yes, dear mom braved the weather and watched her little girl do so well with cheering.  It was worth coming home a drenched rat!  lol.

Oh!  I did notice one difference this year — they only did one cheer instead of three like last year.  Enjoy the pictures and video!

The girls “fall” parties at school October 29, 2009

Friday was the girls fall parties at school.  The day first started out with Kylie’s party in the morning.  She had a great party and we both enjoyed ourselves.  The next thing was I rushed back home to eat lunch with my hubby   and then after that it was off to school to Megan’s party.  Whew!  Yes, I was exhausted by the end of the day!

Here are some pics from their parties.   Only one negative thing from Friday – As we were leaving Megan’s class party, I realized she had a fever.  We got home and I took her temp – yep!  101.9!  So I knew she wasn’t going to be able to go to the football game to watch sissy cheer!  (see that in another post).

Pumpkin Patch 2009 October 21, 2009

We went to the Robinson Family Farm last weekend for our annual pumpkin patch fix.  This is our third year of attending and we love that place.  It seems, like everything else in this economy, prices were higher there and you got less for your money, lol, but we had a great time.  A few pics below – the rest are on our website.

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve last blogged.  I have most of our cruise pics up on our website, but my BIL just sent me 600+ more to look through and get put up on the site and I’ll let you know when I do   I so wish we were back on that cruise again.  sigh.

October is just faring too well – giving me the winter blues.

The girls are keeping us so busy.  Gymnastics on weekends, homework during the week.  With holidays fast approaching we are constantly going here or there.   The dogs and cats are keeping us busy as well.   Buster got back from boot camp last Thursday and he’s been such a good boy.   He has only made a few messes in the house (I’ll take that over many, lol).  He is listening to us more.  He is not whining in his crate all night.  So we have made lots of progress to living more comfortably with our pups.  Ryan and I installed a fence and that has made it a lot better for the dogs, too, they aren’t crated or on tie-outs anymore.  Once winter really hits, though, they’ll be inside more which since they don’t have free rein of the house at the moment, they won’t like so well.

Life is definitely getting busier at the Nation house!

Ah, I’m too tired to talk about the trip now.  ROFL.  I did, however, put pictures on our website – so go take a look at them.  We had an awesome time!

She ate what?????????? September 16, 2009

I was out to lunch with Ryan when we got a call from the school nurse that Megan ATE hand sanitizer. You know the stuff that has 62% alcohol in it. She ate it! Why? I have NO clue. So they stopped the bus, she did it on the bus, had another bus come get her and take her to the bus barn, so the other bus could continue it’s route picking up other kids for the PM Pre-K class. They had the nurse check her out and called poison control because none of us have any clue how much she actually ate. It took me 35 minutes to get there since our school is in another town. I get there and they told me if anything terrible was going to happen it would happen w/in an hour. Well it would take me another 35 minutes to get her to the doctor or hospital so I took her to her sitter. She looked fine, not drunk, but they said even a little tiny amount can put them at the legal limit for drunk. So the sitter is watching her closely and I’m STILL waiting for the doctor to get back to me as to whether I should bring her in. Poison control said to give her juice and a snack, but the school nurse couldn’t get her to do that. So my sitter and I got her to do that, thankfully. OMG, my child is more than likely legally drunk.

So warning if you give your children those little bottles of hand sanitizer to clip to their school bags. I’m totally against hand sanitizer, but the girls begged to have the clip kind on their bags, so I did – stupid mistake. Although how on earth would I think my 4.5 year old child would EAT it????????????

I feel like the worst mother in the world right now. Just got a call back from our doctor and he said that stuff is lethal to kids, but since nothing had happened in an hours time she will be fine just continue to flush fluids through her so the alcohol gets out of her system.

ANYONE with this stuff for the kids, especially young kids being around, BEWARE!

I’m still confused as to why she’d eat that stuff.  It doesn’t smell good, it smells like alcohol!  Arggghhhhh, I thought we were through with the eating everything stage, but not with this kid :rolleyes:

It’s Friday and I’m ready to play! September 11, 2009

But I can’t.    Instead I have to get ready for Kylie’s friend birthday party we are having tomorrow.  It’s already turned out to be somewhat of a fiasco because of the place we are having it at.  GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Won’t go into it any further.  I just pray it seems better tomorrow at the actual party, or else I’m going to be terribly embarrassed.   My blood still boils thinking about this.

I have to go get Buster shaved today, so I better be off!

Happy Birthday Booga! September 7, 2009

My sweet Booga is 7 today.  I just can’t believe it.  She looks so much older, especially since she got all her hair chopped off.  wahhhhhh!

We had a birthday cookout for her over the weekend.  While it was stressful getting ready for it, it was a fun weekend and most importantly I think she enjoyed it.

Now off for some much needed zzzzz’s.  ROFL.
