We should just live in a bubble!
That’s it!!! I’ve decided that my family just needs to live in a bubble. Actually each one of us needs to live in their own personal bubble. We have N E V E R had this much sickness in our lives. The girls have always been so healthy (well except Megan’s monthly fever business) but this year is OUT OF CONTROL.
There have only been 2 weeks since Thanksgiving that none of us have been sick. Otherwise there is at least one person in our house sick daily. I’ve missed so much work, my mother has watched the sicklings therefore getting sick herself (and dad), Ryan’s missed work, etc, etc, etc. I’m going NUTS!!!! Ryan is home with Megan this morning and I’ll be home with her this afternoon.
I DESPISE school and it’s germs.
Sorry, had to get that out. Go figure, my bosses 3 kids (who go to the same school as mine) haven’t been sick at all, YET mine are bringing home every germ they can find. I know we aren’t the only ones because the teachers have told me it’s all over the school.
Ok, don’t mind me. I needed to scream my frustrations somewhere.

Blah, blah, blah
Ramblings…
- Woke up with a head/chest cold Sunday morning…NOT FUN! I’m so crabby when I am sick. Ryan is such a wonderful husband when I am, too. He takes good care of me, despite my MAJOR crabbiness.
- Thank goodness Kylie only has a few more days on this antibiotic. This getting up in the middle of the night to give it to her is wearing thin. Not fun! It is hilarious that I’m complaining about this, though, as Ryan has gotten up more times to do it than I have. ROFL. Oh, Karen…….
- Kylie has ANOTHER fundraiser going on at school. This time it’s magazines. Has the school not had ENOUGH of fundraisers? I know we have!
- I wish I could get through to Kylie and make her understand she has to listen to us like she listens at school. I warned her several times last night to brush her teeth and she played around instead. So I had to punish her by telling her she wasn’t going to read her book for Book-It so she could turn it in today. She was so sad, which made me sad, but she needs to listen. Hopefully she learned her lesson and will listen tonight!
- Either we are seeing things or Megan really is doing a LOT better on this allergy-free diet. Her stools are much better, her mood is much better, she’s eating 24/7 now, and she actually looks like she may be gaining some weight. Look out world! Megan is getting better!!!! Hopefully, lol.
- I can’t stress ENOUGH how excited I am to go on our Disney Cruise in September. I just CAN’T wait for it to get here. I don’t want time to fly by, as that means our babies get older, but I’m ready for the cruise! It will be so much fun. I think all of us are excited about it. Awesome news was I found a Disney vacation template this morning on the Creative Memories website and I think I’m going to do a seperate scrapbook for our vacation. HOW FUN!!!!! I know many of you would not think that.
- Did I tell you how much this cold stinks!!!!!!!! Come on spring weather! We are all waiting for you at the Nation household. We need sun, warm weather, flowers, green grass, birds chirping and most of all…..ALL THE SICKNESS TO LEAVE OUR HOUSE FOR GOOD

Happy Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day was wonderful this year, despite the fact that we really didn’t get to do anything out of the ordinary special this year. The girls and I had a baby shower right smack in the middle of the day, which made it hard to make any plans. That and with Megan’s allergies it was too much of a hassle to go out to eat.
In the morning we let the girls open their Valentines. We got them each a small silver heart locket, a chicken Webkinz, some webkinz trading cards, Princess stickers, and an animal “grow-a-pet”. Megan got the chicken and Kylie got the pig, I believe. I can’t remember, lol. Ryan and I exchanged cards, as well. Of course my husband made me cry reading the letter he wrote me. He always does, as he is such a great writer. He can tell his feelings on paper so clearly and so eloquently. I also mentioned in another post that he got me a new digital camera, as well. He gave it to me on Thursday night so I’d have it to try out at Kylie’s cheerleading debut Friday night.
Then we went to the shower. It was a lot of fun, but tiring too since it was during nap time. LOL. Yes, even momma needs a nap!
So when we got home the girls and I slept while Ryan anxiously waited for us to wake up since he didn’t get to spend much time with us. LOL.
The rest of the evening was goofing around and such. Ryan fixed us a wonderful steak dinner!!! YUM! YUM! Oh, the girls had pork chops, though, because they didn’t want steak.
Happy Valentine’s Day!! I hope you all had a wonderful one as our family did

Kylie’s Valentine Party & Cheerleading Debut
Kylie had her Valentine party at school today. I went at 8:30 a.m. to help set up and then the festivities began! Kylie is so funny how she latches on to me at school. I always thought Megan would do this more so than Kylie, but they proved me wrong! lol. The party went well and was a lot of fun.
After the party I had to pick up Megan and we went to BRU for Alicia’s baby shower gift. Then it was time to pick up Kylie off the bus. The day went so fast, things did not get done that I planned, and I was exhausted for some strange reason. I did manage to get a portion of the house cleaned which needed it badly!
Tonight Kylie made her cheerleading debut at the half-time of the Varsity Basketball game. It was Plains vs. Athens. She was so darn cute up there cheerleading!!! One moment she looked like a cute little girl to me and then the next she seemed too grown up. WAHHHHHH!!!!!!! Kylie did great, though, and we were able to get it on video with the lovely brand new camera Ryan got me for Valentine’s Day. That was super exciting (and off topic, lol).

Megan’s Valentine Party
Well the morning started off just a tad bit too crazy for mommy. LOL. It started out with Megan needing to go to OT, so we did our usual rush to get out the door by 7 am to get there on time. We get almost there when I decided to check my phone, as I was waiting for an email about the school party, and noticed that Arina had called and canceled OT due to sickness. Oh great! Well, that will teach ME to look at my phone in the morning before rushing like a mad woman. SIGH. So I had to drive her all the way back to Terri’s and then drive to work. SIGH. Ok, I started to breath once I got to work….eventually. LOL.
Megan’s party was in the afternoon on Thursday, as Friday was a 1/2 day of school and so the Pre-K pm class would not meet. It was fun! I realized how reserved Megan is, just sitting back all by herself at circle time while the other kids crowd together to be as close as possible. One of my main reasons for going, besides seeing my Little Bit, was the allergy reason. I knew it might be hard on Megan to see all the kids eat candy that she couldn’t have. The snack was going to be ice cream with chocolate syrup and sprinkles, which she couldn’t have. So I brought her own cup of ice cream (organic, dye-free) and some marshmellows to put on top. She was so excited to be eating basically what the other kids were. That made it worth the trip, for sure!
I am amazed at the maturity of Megan in dealing with her allergies. She has to watch everyone eat things she can’t have, fun things to eat, and I don’t believe I could handle it as well as she does. Ryan and I are so very proud of her.

And here we go again….
I picked the girls up from daycare today to take them to gymnastics. When I got there Kylie immediately complained of ear pain and she truly looked like it hurt. So we get to gymnastics and I have Ryan look at her ear. It didn’t look red, but she sure looked like she was in pain. So a few minutes later Ryan took her to the Urgent Care and I stayed so Megan could attend class. Sure enough she had a double inner ear infection. That poor girl. She was up all night in pain. Daddy was so sweet to tend to her all night, too
She is on antibiotics for 10 days. Ahhh, we love antibiotics around here – we haven’t have enough of them…have we?

Is she 6 or 16?
You decide for yourself, lol.
(conversation last night on the way home from gymnastics)
Kylie: Mom?
Me: Yes, sweetheart.
Kylie: Jake broke up with me today. He is dating Anna now. Anna is my friend.
Me: I’m sorry Kylie. How does that make you feel?
Kylie: Sad. Very sad. Wait until I tell daddy. He will be jumping up and down, shaking his booty in the air, saying “Jake’s gone! Jake’s gone!”
Me: I’m sorry your sad Kylie (btw, while talking to her I’m trying not to giggle about the daddy remark). Just know there are more fish in the sea and when you are older you will find the right one.
Kylie: What is fish in the sea?
Me: What I mean is that they are other boys besides Jake. He is not the only boy out there and when you are old enough (much older) to have a boyfriend there will be more.
Kylie: I know, Mom.
Me: Why did he break up with you?
Kylie: I don’t know mom. I know he loves me.
Me: How do you know that?
Kylie: Because he kissed me before and that means he loved me.
Me: I see. (that’s about all I could say because I was confused and taken back about why I was having a conversation like this with my SIX year old!!!!)
SIGH, Ryan and I are in T R O U B L E. lol.
