Wow! I knew it had been a little while since I last blogged, but didn’t realize it’s been 22 days. I guess the outcome of the election really had me depressed, lol.
Where have I been?
- Kylie and I attended a birthday party for her classmate, Noah, on Saturday the 8th. It was very cold outside so the hayride was a bit bitter but fun. The party was fun as well.
- I got a temporary crown put in on the 11th to replace my old crown. That was my one day off. My one day to spend it however I wanted. Ryan was at work. The girls were at school. I had to waste my day getting a crown, lol.
- The girls had a 1/2 day off of school on the 14th, but I got the pleasure of going to the doc in the afternoon for a terrible UTI. So needless to say we didn’t get to spend the afternoon how I planned.
- That same weekend Megan decided to get a stomach bug, but was feeling better enough to go to school on Monday morning, the 17th.
- BUT as I picked the girls up from Terri’s the night of the 17th to take them to gymnastics, Megan decided to puke in the car on the way there. So I stayed home with her on the 18th. She went back to school unwillingly, but healthy on the 19th. LOL.
- Wednesday the 19th, Ryan and I had gone outside for a minute and when we returned Kylie had taken a Halloween stamper to her entire body (yes, head to toe) and had gotten a few on Megan before we caught her. Oh, it was terrible. Black, black ink all over her! So I put her in the bath tub and proceeded to scrub the stamps off. Well of course they wouldn’t come off and I was desperate to find something because she couldn’t go to school that way with them. Here is where the bad mommy award comes in to play. I told Ryan to get me a magic eraser to use. Dummy me didn’t think it had chemicals in it so I scrubbed her entire body with it. It came off. BUT not without a few minor burns on her face, which she had to go to school the next few days explaining what had happened. Yes, I feared DCFS coming to get me, lol, and felt absolutely terrible for doing something so stupid. Well, it did come off, though. Ha ha.
- Friday the 21st we took the girls to see Winnie The Pooh live. It was a lot of fun, but a long show. Too long for my tired girls. Megan passed out seconds after I put her in the car seat and Kylie was almost asleep by the time we got home.
- And as the story continues, the evening of Saturday the 22nd Kylie got very bad hives. Of course, the freaking out mother that I am thought that the magic eraser caused it and I freaked out even more. Ryan tried many times to calm me down, but let’s face it – is that possible for me? No. Ha ha. So Ryan read about hives more, because it really did just look like the hives I get. He found out it was just that , not the eraser, and I called to confirm with the tele-nurse and all was well. Hours later she was back to her normal self. SIGH. Note to self – please try your hardest NOT to freak out again, lol.
So now that pretty much brings you up to speed and leaves us with today. The day before Thanksgiving. Ryan and I are hosting Thanksgiving for my dad’s side of the family. We have MAJOR to-do’s and so we are off this afternoon to do them. Tonight, I believe we plan to take the girls to good old Chuck-E-Cheese for some stress-free entertainment before the commotion begins tomorrow. My reasoning was to keep the house clean, lol. The rest of the weekend is candy-making weekend so we’ll be so busy with that I’m not sure when we’ll find time to relax, lol. It will be a lot of fun and we are all looking forward to it.
I’ve wanted to blog lately about the girls and gymnastics, but I’ve been busy and haven’t had time. I just want to say I am so thrilled they found something they love to do. Something that excites them and puts a smile on their faces. Kylie complained so much about every sport she’s done, although I must say she’s loved them in the end. It’s just this time, we’ve found something they don’t complain about pretty much not at all. It’s great. I, of course, am thrilled to see them take up something I have a passion for. I also do hope Kylie takes up baseball again in the spring. She is good at it and she does love it when it’s all said and done.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
