Where have you been for the past 10 days?
Whew! I logged in today and realized I haven’t been here in 10 days! Miss me? Probably not. Ha ha. What have I been doing for the past 10 days, even? Geesh, gotta look at my calendar just to see. Oh yeah, 10 days ago is when Kylie started school and it’s been a tornado effect since then.
Well last Wednesday, 8/20, was Megan’s preview day for Pre-K. I took off work that day. So we (Ryan, Megan and I) went to that, then spent the rest of the day relaxing. On Thursday, 8/21 I was off of work as well and got Megan ready for her first day at Pre-K. I took her to the bus, she looked so cute!!!! My last baby on her way to school. Wahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! So after the bus picked her up I went to the school to see her get off of it. Hee hee.
We haven’t been able to get her to tell us what she has done in school since last week. Oh! She did tell us the first day of school that she pushed the teacher in the butt because she wanted to. OH MY! Luckily we didn’t get a note sent home so I guess she didn’t get into trouble for it.
Kylie has also been pretty quiet about school lately, which is surprising to us. She’s so talkative and I thought she’d be tickled pink about Kindergarden this year. Hmmm.
Well, so besides getting into the routine of school, we’ve also had baseball practices and games. Kylie is definitely improving in the hitting department. In the outfield……well we have some work to do. Ryan practices with her every chance she’ll let him. She’s not too keen on practicing just yet.
Besides that, not too much. We sold the girls swingset – yes that’s what they wanted. They wanted a bounce house and a bigger sandbox instead. The first day I had the set on Craig’s list it sold! Ryan put together the sandbox last weekend and the girls played two whole hours in it without fighting or bothering us. It was HEAVEN! The bounce house came yesterday and the girls got to bounce around in it last night.
Now we are just trying to get ready for the big birthday party on Saturday. It should be fun! The girls are playing hooky tomorrow from school to spend the day with Angi and Kirsten and Grandma Taft. Ryan and I will spend the day cleaning to get ready for the party.
So what are your plans for Labor Day? Have a great holiday weekend {whoever may be reading this, ha ha}.

Baseball
Kylie had her first baseball practice this past Saturday. She looked so cute in her little baseball pants and hat. The little stinker grew out of her soccer shoes already from Spring, so we still need to get her some baseball shoes. We were very suprised to see she couldn’t hit the ball, though. At home she whacks the tar out of that ball. Ryan thought it was because at home he was using a plastic bat and ball with her and at practice they are using aluminum bats and a spongy type ball. So she needs to practice, practice, practice.
Her first game is Tuesday. She only gets 5 tries to hit the ball. My fingers are crossed that she hits it so it boosts her confidence a bit more.

And so it begins…
School. Today Ryan and I took Kylie to her Kindergarden preview day. She got to see her classroom, visit with her new teacher, and drop off her supplies. Tomorrow will be her first official day. She is very excited. I am, too. I know she likes to be mentally challenged and hopefully kindy will do that for her since Pre-K did not. I am excited at all the new things she’ll learn this year.
Megan’s preview day for Pre-K is Wednesday and her first official day is Thursday. She really wanted to see her classroom today but we told her she had to wait a few more days. I’m nervous about her going. Ha ha. So is Ryan. We just don’t know how she will do. She’s a 3.5 year old little girl who acts more like she just turned 2. It’s scary, actually. She just acts so far behind mentally than her age group that we are not sure how she will do. Her occupational therapist thinks Pre-K is just the thing she needs to move “forward”, so we’ll see.
Stay tuned! Ha ha.

Where has the summer gone?
I can feel fall approaching and the thought of winter after that is daunting. I am just not a winter person anymore. I feel I am one with the birds when it comes to wanting to fly somewhere warmer in the winter time. Who knows, maybe Ryan and I will be able to do that someday – when we retire.
Kylie is back home from Georgia and trying to get back into routine. School starts next week for both girls and we are all going to have to adjust to a new routine. It will be different and challenging, but we’ll all get settled soon.
The backyard/patio project is coming to a close. I swore I never thought that thing would end. Now this just means I really need to start getting serious about working out – now that I don’t have an excuse not to. You would think I would have lost something with all the manual labor I did out there, but nooooooooo. Not me, not lucky when it comes to weight loss. So now I need to get REALLY serious about it – for my health, for my husband, and for my girls. I know how to do it, so why is it so hard to get started? sigh.

1st Plane ride
Our baby girl rode her first plane on Wednesday. She wasn’t scared at all. I was, Ryan was. I wanted to cry when I saw that plane but I held back the tears. As soon as Megan saw the plane out of sight she said “Can we go home now”. Ha ha.
We are all missing her. We will pick her up at the airport on Sunday.
