Lemonade, anyone?
Ryan just sent me these pictures off his iPhone from the garage sale we had two weekends ago. The girls had their lemonade stand. I forgot my camera, of course. Look at my cuties!!! The other little girl is my mother-in-law’s neice.

Color this, color that
UGH! The patio was poured in two seperate pours and for some reason they came out two different colors. One is a lighter brown and one is a darker brown. Our contractor is waiting to hear back from the concrete company to determine what happened before we decide the next course of action. Easiest course of action (if do-able) is to find some color sealer that can be put on and bring the two colors closer together – we’ll live with that if they come close. Otherwise the hardest course of action is to rip out one portion of the patio. OY! Basically we weren’t able to do a lot of things we wanted to get done this past weekend because of this disaster and are sitting on our hands waiting. SIGH. I had high hopes of planting grass seed and building deck steps – but soon…..I hope.
There is so much landscaping to be done, but hopefully it will come together to “my eye” once the areas that need grass seed are done. Right now it looks like a big mess of dirt/mudd EVERYWHERE.
The girls were great, though, this weekend at letting us work on the patio area while they played outside. Our main focus (the only focus we could work on) was the pool. We got it set up and filled up and ready for swimming! Kylie, my crazy crazy child, got into that freezing cold water and swam in it. Megan, the smart one, pretty much stayed out of it. Ha ha.
We never made it to the theatre to see Wall-E like we had wanted to, though. Thursday we are off to Mt. Vernon to visit with family for the 4th of July!

Where do you go in your dreams?
Every night Ryan, the girls and I decide where we are going to go in our dreams. It is one of the special things I like that we do. Each night someone gets to pick where we all go in our dreams. It’s like a comfort place for the girls, especially, so they know we are with them at night in their sleep. Last night Kylie chose Iceland. We go to some weird, but fun places – I’ll tell you that! Ha ha. So where do you go in your dreams?

Toilets, patios, rough housing
Ha! Yes, my title is a bit strange, I know
Yesterday, as I mentioned in a previous blog post, I took off work for the afternoon and “watched” the patio from critters getting on it. Fortunately I was able to get a lot of yard work done as well. It was nice getting it done when it was cool. The patio is coming together nicely. I can’t wait until they clean everything up, get the forms off, seel the patio and we can start to put the pool up and arranging the patio! I’m so impatient, I know. Ha ha.
You are probably wondering why I have the word “toilets” in my title by now, aren’t you? Hee hee. Well it so happened that Ryan was also able to get the plumber out to the house to unclog the toilet Miss Megan clogged up over a week ago. Poor Ryan has been trying to work on it for a week with no luck. We have NO clue what she stuck in the toilet besides toilet paper. She’s not talking. Ha! Ha! $250 later, the toilet is now unclogged. I was so happy because the prices the guy was quoting me if he had to do much more work to it were scary! This kid, I tell you! She’s going to be the death of Ryan and I sooner rather than later.
After things settled down last night Ryan rough housed with the girls before bath time. I LOVE watching them play like that. It’s good for Megan due to her sensory issues, and both girls just adore playing like that with him. I love watching all three of their faces light up, laugh, giggle and scream excitement. Those are moments to really treasure.

Animals!!!
We got home last night from work and the contractor had poured a portion of the patio already. It was suprising to us and so we didn’t even think about animals getting on the patio while it was still setting. Smokey, of course, got on it so Ryan had to call the contractor back to fix it. SIGH. So we sat outside until about 9 or 10 pm making sure animals didn’t get on the patio. We also put Smokey and Rambo in the house. Well, we should have known. We woke up this morning and there were raccoon prints all over in the patio. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are there to stay now. sigh. The contractor is finishing up the rest of the patio today so I’m taking the afternoon off to go “watch dog” the place and make sure no other critters mess with the rest of it. The sidewalk isn’t being poured until Wednesday (if it doesn’t rain) so we’ll still have to deal with the very angry locked up cats that are in our house. Ha ha. FUN I tell ya!
I can’t wait to see it all done, though. There is a T O N of landscape, etc work to do. The yard was all torn up from all of the bobcat work so that will have to be fixed, etc, etc. I think this is going to be a several year project
It will be worth it in the end, though!
Looks like we’ll get to put the pool up this weekend. YAY!!!! Of course it will take a while to heat up the water before I get in there. Hee hee.

At peace
Saturday morning I had to get up early to get to Riverton. I left the house at 6 am to head that way. I had the window down because the breeze felt great and needed a “wake me up” as well. So I was driving, sun was getting ready to shine and I was just enjoying the cool breeze when I looked over and there was a young buck running along side me. He was in the field, but seemed to be trying to keep up with the van. Normally a deer will run out in front of you, not along side of you. He looked so carefree, so peaceful. At that moment, I felt that was me. Carefree, happy, at peace. It was a great feeling. It still is. My family makes me the happiest person in the world. Ryan is so wonderful and I feel so lucky to have his love. I couldn’t love anyone more than I love him. And the girls…..wow, I couldn’t ask for two more wonderful girls than them. I AM the luckiest person in the world and I will never take that for granted.
- I love you Ryan, Kylie and Megan

Great weekend, busy weekend
Boy, was that a busy weekend, but a productive one as well. We had the garage sale on Friday afternoon and Saturday and I’d say it was pretty successful. I made out with $165.80! Not too bad. I got to buy my bike I wanted with the money and we got rid of a lot of stuff out of the house that was just cluttering up the place. So it was a win win for all of us.
After we bought my bike yesterday, Ryan and Megan and I went for a bike ride down to my parents. That was rough! It’s been so long since I’ve been on a bike and I’m obviously VERY out of shape. OY! Kylie spent the day with her cousin, Adysen, so that’s why she wasn’t with us.
We also put all the patio furniture together, cleaned up the garage a bit more, vacuumed out the van and put it back together AND moved stuff around in the yard to get ready for the contractor to pour our patio. YES! You heard right! Yesterday when we got home we noticed a pile of rock near the patio area and then he called last night to confirm they are going to start working on it today! So we may just have a patio by tomorrow evening if the rain holds out. CROSS YOUR FINGERS, PLEASE!!!! Ha ha. We’ve been waiting for a month so we are excited.
Megan was a complete angel yesterday with her sister gone. It’s amazing how sweet and content she can be. When the two of them are together they constantly bicker and annoy the crap out of each other. Drives Ryan and I crazy!!!!
Kylie and Megan had a lemonade stand at the garage sale on Saturday. They were so cute. They made out with $11!!!! People were just giving them money and not taking the lemonade. Ha ha. The way those two were handling it I was even afraid to drink it. Papa Nation also helped their fund a bit by paying them more than the 25 cents they were asking for. Ha ha. Even some of the neighborhood girls came to help them out. It was so cute!
Well, for the most part, that was our weekend in a nutshell. Biking was fun, but painful
I think we are going to try to get out again tonight. The only problem with that is this means I have to pull the bike trailer with Megan behind me because Ryan will have Kylie on a bike behind him. Why is this a problem, you ask? Because yesterday I only have to bike myself and I barely made it. Ha ha.

Megan is gaining!!!
Megan still eats like a bird, but I did start to notice this past week or so that she’s starting to look like she just may have some meat on her bones. Ha ha. So I had her go potty, then get on the scale and low and behold she’s gained! Last month she was roughly 26.3 pounds, if I remember correctly. Two days ago she weighed 27.8 pounds!!!! YAY!!! She just may hit the 30 pound mark by Christmas
On a side note, Kylie weighed in at almost 50 pounds yesterday at her doc visit for her ear.

The sicklings and the cat
- Ryan and Kylie both seem to have ear infections. We’ll find out today. They are going to go see Dr. L to find out. My poor babies, they’ve been aching for days so I hope they get some relief quickly. For some odd reason they seem to get earaches around the same time – seriously.
- Rambo still seems to be adjusting to his new surroundings. I’ve noticed him coming out from under the bed a bit more. I just wish he wouldn’t meow so much, especially at bedtime. We are all sleeping with our doors closed to keep from dealing with it – I know that’s terrible. I’m making a point to pet him as much as he allows to reassure him he’ll like it in our home. I think Ryan is going to take him outside tonight – or maybe it was that he said his mom was going to leave him out today when she comes visit. I don’t remember. We’ll see when we get home. He really is a sweet Kitty Bam, though.

Garage Sale
This Friday afternoon and Saturday I am putting on a garage sale with Wendy at her house in Riverton. I did not know how time consuming and exhausting it was to get ready for one. I’ve had a lot of things in a central location in the basement for sometime that I knew I’d try to sell, but the last few days we’ve been going through everything getting more ready.
I really do feel better when the house isn’t so cluttered. I used to like to hold on to everything and Ryan reminded me that it’s less stressful to declutter every once in awhile. I didn’t agree at first, but it didn’t take me long to realize he was right. I just really do feel better when the house is decluttered. Ideally I would have loved to keep each and every tiny little thing the girls had, but where do you put it? My dad said I could keep everything in storage at his house, but honestly I may enjoy looking through all that stuff one day and maybe my girls would give it to their children or maybe they wouldn’t. So it’s not worth keeping it all. Pictures say a thousand words so I have them to remind me of those little things.
I got side tracked…..garage sale, right? Ok, so tonight we are going to fill up the van with stuff to sell so when I get off work tomorrow at noon I can go straight over there and open up for business. ha ha. I really hope we sell a lot of stuff. What we don’t sell is going straight to Goodwill. I may keep some of the more bigger ticketed items that I know I could get rid of somehow and make a little money off of them (such as Little tikes toys, stroller, etc).
Hopefully it will be a successful event and we can then enjoy the rest of our weekend as a family. The county fair is going on this week/weekend but I think it’s way overpriced for what you get to do there. Ryan and I really need to go look at stone for the walkway to the playground and for the grill wall so we should do that this weekend for sure. Otherwise – R E L A X A T I O N is in order. Ha ha.
Wish us luck!
